Adam DeGross @adamdegross is a music photographer based out of Minneapolis. Adam got his start shooting punk music, before adding hip-hop shows to his repertoire (he recently was on tour to shoot for A$AP Ferg). Here, the 29-year-old speaks to Instagram @music about his work.

“When I was 18, I was dating this girl and she talked me into buying a little point-and-shoot camera. I was booking punk bands in Minneapolis, and we wanted to show people that it was a good place to come play, so I would take photos of the shows to help promote the event. [At the time] I was working at Best Buy. We were unloading a truck and I was showing this guy my photos, and he just lost it. ‘Man these are crazy. What are you doing with these? You should make a book or an exhibit.’ So I just went and did it myself.

I will always end up going back to punk music. My goal is to have one of my photos get just as much play as a photo of a huge artist. It could be some punk band in the basement who has played two shows and it gets the same attention as one of my 2 Chainz photos.”
